CHAMPAGNE CLUB - Bollinger 007 James Bond Limited Edition Millésimé 2011

The Bollinger 2021, in connection with the premiere of the 25th installment of the James Bond film series, No Time To Die, introduced this limited edition Millésimé 2011 sparkling wine. The edition also pays tribute to Daniel Craig's final appearance as James Bond, closing a chapter in the legendary film series.

The centerpiece of the set is the special, black 75 cl bottle decorated with the "25" motif referencing the 25th episode of the Bond franchise. The graphic elements of the number are based on the titles of previous Bond films, which are also featured on the display case with a glass insert.

The presentation box design received significant attention. Its exterior is covered with Macassar ebony veneer with an open-pore lacquer finish, preserving the natural character of the wood. A built-in hydraulic mechanism lifts the bottle: the "Push and Let Go" system gently raises and tilts the bottle forward with slight pressure, while the lid opens slowly.

The metal fittings have a dark, so-called "gun barrel" anodized finish, referencing the iconic opening scene of the James Bond films. The black interior features the original information booklet, while the smoke-colored plexiglass insert displays the Bond film titles and Bollinger signature in white silkscreen.

The sparkling wine

The Millésimé 2011 holds a special place in Bollinger's history. The cuvée is made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes from the Aÿ Grand Cru area, where Bollinger was founded in 1829. This was the first time the winery produced a dedicated sparkling wine based on a single vintage and a single vineyard.

The 2011 harvest's raw material was concentrated, giving the wine a well-balanced character. The typical Pinot Noir style of the Aÿ terroir is clearly recognizable, with structure provided by ripe fruit notes, firm acidity, and long aging potential.

The 2011 vintage

The weather in the Champagne region in 2011 was unusual in several ways. After a cold and dry winter, warm weather arrived early, and the summer was sunny. In August and September, there was little rainfall, which favored healthy ripening of the grapes. During harvest, uniform quality and good condition of the grapes were collected.
