CHAMPAGNE CLUB - Pair – Grafé Lecocq Namur Vintage Aluminum Champagne Buckets, approx. 1970–1980

Two original Grafé Lecocq Namur champagne buckets made for the Grafé Lecocq wine and champagne house, established in 1879, located in the city of Namur, Belgium. The house is one of Belgium's most renowned wine merchants and has earned the title of official supplier to the Belgian royal court throughout its long history.

The buckets are made of aluminum, featuring a sleek, functional design. The original Grafé Lecocq – Namur branding is visible on the front side, and the two side handles make it easy to move and serve. They were originally designed for chilling a bottle of champagne or wine with ice in restaurants, bars, and at festive events.

The uniqueness of Grafé Lecocq is not only in its over 145 years of history. The company ages its wines in former tram tunnels located beneath the citadel of Namur, where a constant temperature of 11 °C and 90% humidity provide ideal conditions year-round. The cellars used for aging can accommodate around 1200 French oak barrels. Through slow oxygen exchange, the wines achieve their final balance, aromas, and character here.

After bottling, the wines are placed in cellars located beneath the historical center of Namur, under the Saint-Aubain Cathedral and the Palace of Justice, in cellars that extend over 500 meters. In naturally cool, dark, and well-ventilated passages, some vintage wines can rest for decades. The house's collection still includes bottles aged for more than 50 years.

These two vintage buckets are not just promotional items but a reminder of one of Belgium's most unique wine heritage. They are associated with a company that continues to preserve and age its wines in historical tunnels and cellars to this day.

The buckets are in good condition, showing minor signs of use and aging appropriate for their age.
