For sale is the antique silver perfume oil container shown in the pictures, a Gothic Renaissance style item. Marked Coppini, a famous Florentine goldsmith dynasty's work from the 1800s.

The piece faithfully evokes the richness of 16th-century Florentine Renaissance and Gothic goldsmith art. This is indicated by the two sides of the jug, which feature intricate mythological creatures / dragons (or chimeras) that form the ears and are characteristic motifs in Coppini items. Renaissance goldsmith art loved grotesque, ancient-inspired creatures. The central part of the vase, decorated with floral motifs, also hints at the Renaissance, with a convex band (frieze). The lower part of the item, the three-legged stand (stative) and its pierced structure, evoke the stained glass windows and tower decorations (pinnacles) of Gothic cathedrals. The elegant, upward-reaching arches of the legs and the pointed, spear- or flame-like roof ornament (the top of the vase lid) reinforce the vertical, skyward nature of Gothic. The removable amphora-shaped central part fits into this. The narrow opening at the top is covered by a decorated cap. The amphora body is very small in volume, suggesting it could have contained some noble liquid. The item is made of thick-walled, solid silver, with handcrafted cast decorative elements. The silver item consists of four parts.

The famous Florentine silversmith Coppini family established their workshop as early as the 1740s. Over time, the manufactory was passed down through generations and became one of the most defining names in Florence silver craftsmanship. Their works did not include modern items but drew inspiration from and revived 15th–16th-century Florentine Renaissance and Gothic forms with incredible precision.
By the mid-20th century, the Coppini name became synonymous with premium quality, handcrafted Italian luxury silver, and their items are collected worldwide.

The heritage of the family and workshop was so strong that the brand defined Florence's artisan identity for decades and centuries, and vintage Coppini pieces are still highly sought after in the art market.

Such representative decorative objects are among the most outstanding creations of Florence's luxury workshop.
