19th century, antique Russian Imperial niello silver 84 zolotnik cigarette case / tobacco container / pipe box / from 1824.
The item shown in the pictures is in very good condition, appropriate for its age.
Beautiful antique craftsmanship.
The lid is decorated with an image of Tsar Peter the Great's equestrian statue in Saint Petersburg, with niello (black enamel) technique in the center, surrounded by organic and geometric patterns.
The back features a central element decorated with Russian military symbols, flags, shield, drum, and helmet, also using niello (black enamel) technique in the center, with organic and geometric patterns around it, similar to the front.
The lid closes nicely and tightly. It is not a simple tobacco or pipe case.
The interior surfaces are gilded.
