What is the acknowledgement of receipt?

If you want to make sure that the addressee has received the shipment, request an acknowledgement of receipt. This is the case when the person delivering the item has the return slip signed (it is the acknowledgement of receipt), proving that the receipt of the shipment has indeed taken place. The takeover of a postal item with an acknowledgement of receipt is governed by rules. Only those persons set by the rules of the post shall be authorized to take over the item(s). A shipment with an acknowledgement of receipt cannot be delivered to a letterbox. The slip of acknowledgement of receipt will be returned to the sender, which legally proves that the shipment was both dispatched and delivered. If the addressee does not take over the shipment with an acknowledgement of receipt, the server of the shipment will leave a notification at the addressee, according to which the addressee can take over the shipment at the post office. Thereafter, it will be kept at the post for 5 working days, then a second attempt is made to deliver the shipment. If it also fails, the post leaves a notification at the addressee again, and keep the shipment at the post office for another 5 days, and if the addressee does not show up during this time, the post will send it back to the seller together with the acknowledgement of receipt slip, indicating the cause of the failed delivery.
