1924 és 1929 között a budapesti Képzőművészeti Főiskolán tanult Vaszary Jánosnál és Csók Istvánnál. A diploma megszerzése után franciaországi ösztöndíjat kapott. 1934-ben Olaszországban, 1938-ban Hollandiában járt tanulmányúton. 1936-tól 1937-ig a szolnoki művésztelepen dolgozott. 1945 után számos könyvillusztrációt készített.
