A Mintarajziskolát 1893-ban fejezte be, majd a rajztanárképző és a párizsi Julian akadémia növendéke lett. Az akvarelltechnikát Londonban tanulmányozta, ösztöndíjjal járt Olaszországban is. 1903-tól tanított a Képzőművészeti Főiskolán. 1905-ben Erdélyben, Törökországban és Hollandiában festett. Több művésztelepen alkotott, így Nagybányán, Kecskeméten, Szentendrén, Budapesten.
