The Csongrád county catering industry company was founded in 1953 by merging the county's hotels and restaurants. This included the representative restaurant in The Hague and the restaurant in Szeged. The company was liquidated after the regime change.

András Lapis (1942-) is a sculptor who graduated from the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts as a student of Iván Szabó and Tibor Rozanits. Primarily known as a medal artist, he designed and produced commemorative medals and medal portraits, and also modeled building sculptures, public works, portrait sculptures, small sculptures, and nude sculptures.

His public sculptures are the jewels of the streets and squares of Szeged, in addition to this he created numerous small sculptures and designed hundreds of medals. In addition to domestic collections, his works are included in museum collections in London, Stockholm, Rastatt, Tokyo and Vienna.

The works of the Szeged-based sculptor are, by the way, defining jewels of the city's streets and squares. His best-known public work is the two-meter-high female figure in a hat, weighing almost eight mázás, entitled The Muse of Szeged, which has been decorating Gyula Square in Glattfelder since 2006.
