Lajos Kondor graduated from the Budapest College of Applied Arts in 1949. Masters: Gyula Hincz, György Konecsni, Pál Miháltz. He was awarded the Munkácsy Award in 1960.
His linear, toned and colorful graphics are characterized by great craftsmanship, restraint and nuanced expression. His illustrations, which sensitively and stylishly depict places, times and personalities, are worthy companions of literary works. With his illustrations, he won the "most beautiful book of the year" award several times (1958 and 1959). In 1968, he won a silver cup at the graphics exhibition in Vignola.
