Eredeti Hans Collaert metszet: "Jeroboám és Áhija próféta", Ambrosius Francken után, 1585 körül

A nyomat származási helye: "Thesaurus sacrarum historiaru[m] vetis (et novi) testame[n]ti, elega[n]tissimis imaginibus expressu[m] excelle[n]tissimoru[m] in hac arte viroru[m] opera : nu [n]c primu[m] in luce[m] editus."

A háttérben Jeruzsálem látható. A szakadt köpeny a zsidó nép megosztottságát jelképezi. Jerobeám a tizenkét törzs közül tíznek lett a királya.

Nyomat mérete: 20.8 x 29.3 cm
Lap mérete: 28.5 x 35.6 cm

Engraving by Hans Collaert, "Jeroboam and the Prophet Achija", after Ambrosius Francken, around 1585

Print used in: "Thesaurus sacrarum historiaru[m] vetis (et novi) testame[n]ti, elega[n]tissimis imaginibus expressu[m] excelle[n]tissimoru[m] in hac arte viroru[m] opera : nu [n]c primu[m] in luce[m] editus." This copy was published in 1585 by Gerard de Jode in Antwerp.

It shows: an illustration to 1 Kings 2:29. Shown are Jeroboam and Ahijah, just outside of Jerusalem. Ahijah's new cloak is already torn into twelve pieces, the knife and two final pieces on the ground bezide Jeroboam (the left figure). Jerusalem can be seen in the backgorund. The torn cloak symbolizes the division of the Jewish people. Jerobeam became king of ten of the twelve tribes.
