Noémi Tavaszy (1927-2018): Ábrahám. Numbered (50/2), signed, individually colored linocut from 1991. Signed lower right Tavaszy Noémi, title and serial number lower left. Linocut size 25x25 cm, carrier/paper size: 45x40 cm. A rare work, it has not previously appeared at auctions.
Noémi Tavaszy was born in 1927, graduated in 1947 as a teacher and in 1950 as an art teacher. His artistic studies were directed by the painter Sándor Bortnyik. His first solo exhibition was held in Budapest in 1967, after which his works were featured in more than four hundred individual and group exhibitions in Hungary and abroad. For his work, he received the Small Cross of the Hungarian Republic Medal of Merit. He made seventy linocuts for the Bible. His works can be found in many domestic and foreign private collections.
