Madarassy walter (1909-1994) waterworks of Budapest Székesfóváros double-sided bronze plaque from 1947. In memory of the 80-year existence of the waterworks and their reconstruction after the siege. Size: 8.3 cm x 5 cm. Weight: 133 gr.
Walter Madarassy (1909-1994) Münkacsy Prize-winning sculptor, medal artist, small sculptor. He began his studies at the school of industrial design in 1923, continued at the school of applied arts between 1924-28, and then studied decorative sculpture at the Hungarian Royal College of Fine Arts between 1928-1933 and 1934-1936. His masters were Fülöp Elemér, Fáy Aladár, Rezső Kölber, Lajos Mátray, Imre Simay, József Uzferi and István Szentgyörgyi. From 1930 he participated in exhibitions, in 1933-34 he was a scholarship recipient of the collegium hungaricum in Rome. In 1953, he became a figure drawing and patterning teacher at the Hungarian Academy of Applied Arts. Awards: 1937, Paris World Exhibition (diplome d'honneur); 1938, József Ferenc coronation award; 1960, Munkácsy Award; 1979, meritorious artist. As a medal artist, he created more than 570 works, many public sculptures and building decoration sculptures were realized, among others, the xiii. In the district, in újlipótváros, on the wall of the former bm garage, which colloquially only referred to as the party garage.
