Decorative cushion cover with a zipper from the early 1960s made with wool embroidery on a woven base.
Ethnographic description: belonging to the family of fur embroidery of the Great Plain, known as Vásárhely embroidery, preserved in and around Hódmezővásárhely, woolen embroidery originally decorated the pillow ends of raised beds in the 18th century. They are embroidered on home-woven fine hemp canvas, with home-spun wool yarn (hair yarn) colored with vegetable dye. Its decorative elements are stylized flowers and leaves. The colors used are subtle shades of brown, purple-red and blue, or solid black or dark brown. It is typical that the shades of the colors change row by row from dark to light or vice versa.
