Festő. 1943-1944-ben a budapesti Képzőművészeti Főiskolán folytatott tanulmányokat Szőnyi István irányításával. A háború befejezése után Nagybányán képezte magát, ahol le is telepedett. Rendszeresen dolgozott az 1970-es évektől a szárhegyi alkotótáborban, melynek örökös tagjává választották. Számos kiállítása volt Nagybányán, Erdélyben és külföldön, többek között Magyarországon és Németországban. Munkásságáért 1968-ban megkapta a Román Kulturális Érdemrend I. fokozatát. Munkái erdélyi és magyar múzeumokban találhatóak.
