Frankel Ignác 1838-1924 Marastoni Jakab festőiskolájában, majd Bécsben és Antwerpenben tanult. 30 évet Párizsban élt és a Párizsi szalon rendszeres kiállítója volt. 1908-ban tért vissza Budapestre.
Romantikus mitológiai jelenetben van itt betekintésünk. A festmény középpontját gyönyörű, szecessziós szépséggel megfestet, kicsit félénk és megszeppent női alak uralja. A háttérből egy faun, szarvakkal és kéjes mosollyal nyúl felé. A hölgy gyönyörű keze elutasító mozdulattal húzódik az ijesztő alak elől. Szalonokban, netán hálószoba falán mutatna az igazi szépségét.
