The impressionist Berthe Morisot studied with Camille Corot, a painter of the Barbizon school, who taught her to paint en plein air. Like Marie Bracquemond and Mary Cassatt, other well-known female painters of her generation, Morisot avoided the urban street scenes and nude figures depicted by male Impressionists. Instead, he painted his daily experiences and observations. Focusing on boating scenes, garden settings, home interiors and portraits of family and friends that convey the comfort and intimacy of family life. Paul Cézanne, Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Alfred Sisley liked his works and were friends and acquaintances with him.

Morisot's individual style developed in the late 1870s. He did not use the methodical resolution of the color spots in his pictures, the uniqueness of his works is given by the broad brushstrokes that are easily applied and in an informal direction. He worked with flickering, decisive brush strokes and used a bright palette to depict still lifes, landscapes and portraits. "It is important to express oneself, provided that the feelings are genuine and come from one's own experience," he once said. He was born on January 14, 1841 in Bourges, France. Morisot was the great-niece of Rococo painter Jean-Honoré Fragonard. 1895. He died on March 2 in Paris.

His pictures still have a vivid effect today, and his works fetch very high prices at auctions around the world.
