In 2018, the Yaacov Agam Art Museum (yama) was opened in the artist's hometown, Rishon Lezion, Israel (see attached photo.

In 1996, Unesco awarded him the Jan Amos Comenius Medal for the "Agam Method" for the visual education of young children.

Agam studied at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, then moved to Zurich, Switzerland in 1949, where he was a student of Johannes Itten (1888–1967) at the kunstgewerbe schule.

In 1951, my father moved to Paris, France, where he still lives.

Agam had his first solo exhibition at the Galerie Craven in Paris in 1953, at the Salon des réalités nouvelles in 1954 [3] and at the le mouvement exhibition at the Galerie Denise René in Paris in 1955.

Agam's work is usually abstract, kinetic art, with movement, audience participation, and frequent use of light and sound. His works are placed in many public places. His best-known pieces are double metamorphosis iii (1965), visual music orchestration (1989), the fountain in the la défense district in Paris (1975) and the fire and water fountain in Dizengoff Square in Tel Aviv (1986). It is also known for a type of print known as an "agamograph", which uses obstacle-grid animation to display radically different images depending on the angle at which it is viewed. The lenticular technique was implemented on a large scale in the 30-foot (9.1 m) square "complex vision" (1969), installed on the facade of the Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
I had a retrospective exhibition in Paris in 1972 at the musée national d'art moderne, and in 1980 at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. His works are held in many museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art and the Mildred Lane Kemper Museum of Art.
