A művész a 19. század második felében tanult festészetet Benczúr Gyula mesteriskolában. Majd Párizsban és Münchenben képezte magát. Mesterei Lotz Károly és Benczúr Gyula voltak. A budapesti Iparművészeti Iskolában tanított. Műveiből 1928-ban rendeztek kiállítást a Műcsarnokban. Tevékeny részt vett a "Feszti-Körkép" megalkotásában. Festményei a Magyar Nemzeti Galériában láthatók.
