Eugen Nevan (original name Neufeld) was born on January 18, 1914 in Mohács (Hungary), died in Bratislava on October 15, 1967. Between 1934 and 1936, he attended the Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague and the Ukrainian Academy at the same time. In 1936-39, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (prof. Nowak, he was only released in 1945). From 1950 to 1950 he lived in Prague, from 1948 to 1950 he was an assistant at the Academy of Fine Arts. 1950-53 Assistant professor at the Faculty of Pedagogy of the Comenius University in Bratislava, then freelance artist. Since 1943, he has been a member of the Prague Manes Association, which organized his first independent exhibition in 1944. In 1945, he was accepted as a member of the Hollar association. Study trips in France and Switzerland in 1946 and 1947. He ended his life by voluntary death.
