What is an offer for watchers?
Sellers can send special offers to watchers of an item. This way, watchers have the opportunity to buy an item at a significantly lower price. The identity of the watchers remains anonymous, and the seller can only see the number of watchers, that is, the maximum number of potential buyers who will receive the current special offer.
Offers for watchers expire within 48 hours, just like standard offers. Watchers have 48 hours to accept the seller’s special offer.
Since the offer is sent to multiple watchers at a time, it is particularly important that potential buyers react quickly, since the first person to accept the offer will be able to buy the item. Watchers receive clear information about the details of this process.
When can this feature be used?
The Offer for watchers feature can be used, if:
- it is a non-auction listing
- the item has at least 1 watcher
- the item doesn’t consist of multiple pieces
Useful information:
- the seller can send more offers to a watcher
- one offer can be sent after 48 hours for an item
- offers can be sent with a minimum of 5% discount
- watchers are not allowed to make a counteroffer on this type of offer
- the seller is not informed about the refusal of their offer
- watchers’ username will not be disclosed to the seller
How can sellers send an offer to watchers?
To send a second chance offer:
- Go to the Active items page.
- Select the item.
- Select Offer for watchers in the More actions list.
- Enter the offer amount.
- Click on Send.
I don’t want to receive offers as watcher. How can I disable this feature?
We leave it to the users to decide if they want to receive special offers for watched items.
Buyers can choose from two options:
- I don’t want to receive offers for certain items
Go to the Watched items page, click on More actions and turn off the Waiting for offers option. Please note that in case of turning of the Notifications option, you will not only unsubscribe from the offers sent by the seller, but you will also not receive any notifications about the changes to the watched item either. - I don’t want to receive notifications about any watched items
Go to the Transaction settings page and click on the Disable offer to watchers option. If you tick the box, sellers will not be able to send you an offer.
