What is a purchase request?

On Galeria Savaria, sellers and buyers write feedback on each other. Sellers can require new buyers who don’t meet their feedback requirement to send a purchase request to the seller for approval before buying. Sellers can configure the purchase request system to require between 0 to 3 positive feedback reviews. It means that once the buyer has received 4 positive feedback reviews, the purchase request system gets automatically deactivated.

It is important for our online marketplace to provide a high-quality, reliable platform to sellers and buyers for making transactions. On that note, sellers can decide at their own discretion if they want to approve a purchase request by a buyer who has completed none or few successful transactions on Galeria Savaria. This also gives an opportunity to the seller to contact the potential buyer before the purchase is made to make sure that their intention to buy is serious. This is a useful option – in particular for high-value purchases – which may prevent future inconveniences.

If the purchase request option is activated and the buyer doesn’t meet the positive feedback requirement set by the seller, the buyer will receive a notification when making a purchase, sending an offer or placing a bid, informing them that they need the seller’s approval for the purchase. The buyer can send a purchase request by clicking on a button, and the seller will receive a notification of the request. Of course, the buyer can also send a message to the seller.

The seller can manage incoming purchase requests by going to the Block list and permissions page in Settings. Here, the seller can accept or reject the request, and they can also contact the potential buyer through the messaging system. The potential buyer will be notified of the seller’s decision.

• A user can send a purchase request to the same seller only once
• The acceptance or rejection of the purchase request applies to every item offered by the seller
• The seller may change a rejected purchase request at any later time

What can I do if my purchase request was rejected by the seller?
If the seller rejects the buyer’s purchase request, the buyer will not be able to buy from the seller as long as they don’t receive as many positive feedback reviews as needed to meet the seller’s feedback requirement.
Even if your purchase request was rejected, it’s worth making another try. You can contact the seller through the messaging system and ask them why they rejected your request. It is also a good idea to keep browsing our online marketplace and get positive feedback. Sellers do business with more confidence with buyers who already have successful purchases.
